What we collect

Only what you choose to give us. There are no accounts, no contact form and no advertising. The only personal details we collect are from the email sign-up (see below).

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites and does not tell us who you are. See Cloudflare Web Analytics for how it works.

Like any website, the company that hosts the site may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep it running and secure.

The question helper (chat)

When you send a question, it is sent to Cloudflare’s AI service (Workers AI) to write an answer. The answer is sent back to your screen.

• We don’t store or log your questions or the answers.
• The chat disappears when you close or reload the page.
• To stop misuse, we count how many questions come from each internet address. We store only a scrambled code made from the address (not the address itself) and the count. It is deleted automatically after about an hour.
• Please don’t type personal details. If the helper sees something that looks like personal details, it won’t send that message.

Email updates

If you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name.

• Why: only to send you the checklist and occasional plain-English updates about aged care.
• Where it is kept: with our email service, Kit (kit.com). Kit stores it on our behalf to send these emails. Read Kit’s privacy policy.
• Confirming: after you sign up, we send one email asking you to confirm. If you don’t confirm, you won’t get any more emails.
• Unsubscribe any time: every email has an unsubscribe link. It works straight away.
• We never sell, rent or share your email address with anyone else.
• We only email people who asked us to, and every email says who it is from. This follows Australia’s Spam Act 2003.

Before we change what we collect, or sell anything, we will update this page first.

Never share these with us

Please never send us your Medicare number, bank details, referral code or health information. We will never ask for them.
